Juan Carlos Agulla: el nacimiento de la sociología empírica en la Universidad Nacional de Córdoba (1959-1966)

Abstract

Este trabajo estudia la trayectoria de Juan Carlos Agulla, reconstruyendo sus espacios de socialización intelectual y su producción sociológica hasta 1966. En ese recorrido se aprecia una fuerte impronta teórica de la sociología weberiana, producto de su formación en Alemania, al mismo tiempo que el influjo de otras tradiciones como el funcionalismo de Talcott Parsons y Robert Merton. A su vez, la estancia de estudios en FLACSO (Chile), donde entabló vínculos con José Medina Echavarría, fue un momento importante de adquisición de conocimientos sobre las modernas metodologías sociológicas que le posibilitaron, junto a Eva Chamorro y Delbert C. Miller, realizar una pionera investigación sobre la estructura del poder de su ciudad natal, fundando así la sociología empírica en la Universidad Nacional de Córdoba.

This work studies the trajectory of Juan Carlos Agulla, reconstructing his spaces of intellectual socialization and sociological production until 1966. In this journey, a strong theoretical imprint of Weberian sociology is appreciated, product of his training in Germany, at the same time as the influence of other traditions such as the functionalism of Talcott Parsons and Robert Merton. In turn, his study stay at FLACSO (Chile), where he established ties with José Medina Echavarría, was an important moment for acquiring knowledge about modern sociological methodologies that enabled him, together with Eva Chamorro and Delbert C. Miller, to carry out a pioneering research on the power structure of his native city, thus founding the empirical sociology at the National University of Córdoba.
