La jerarquía de seres, de cuerpos y almas, en The True Intellectual System de Cudworth

Abstract

En este artículo me propongo comprender la necesidad la unión entre alma y cuerpo en la jerarquía de seres que propone Ralph Cudowrth en The True Intellectual System (1678). Así se apreciarán los distintos tipos de cuerpo y las diversas configuraciones de la sustancia inmaterial, que mostrará distintos grados de consciencia que se pueden adquirir y la armonía que rige en la metafísica de nuestro filósofo. Por último, intentaré dar cuenta de consecuencias en el plano político en el marco de su filosofía.

In this paper my purpose is to understand the necessity of the union between soul and body in Ralph Cudworth’s The True Intellectual System (1678) hierarchy of beings. Thus, the different types of bodies and configurations of immaterial substance will be appreciated, which will show different grades of consciousness that can be acquire and the harmony that rules in his metaphysics. At last, I intend to present some political consequences in his philosophy.
