Derivas de la biopolítica en la arena actual: las nociones de colonialidad y decolonialidad a partir de Michel Foucault

Abstract

Este artículo se propone realizar un análisis basado en un recorrido inverso al de las investigaciones que indagan el vínculo entre los estudios poscoloniales y el pensamiento de Foucault, las que se han centrado en la eventual apropiación y en la crítica que esos estudios hacen de los conceptos del filósofo. En contraste con ellas, esta investigación muestra que esa matriz de pensamiento ofrece herramientas y categorías que permiten abordar la colonialidad y la decolonialidad, y que esos conceptos se vinculan, en primer término, con las fuertes críticas que el filósofo formula a las ideas de “lo humano”, la verdad, la historia, el poder, el conocimiento y el lenguaje, destacando los alcances y las potencialidades de dichos planteos. Al mismo tiempo, y siendo consecuentes con esos planteos, explicitamos la noción de colonialidad como fenómeno de poder, dominación y producción de subjetividad de nuestra actualidad, en la que destacamos otras figuras de “lo humano” que siguen definiendo la escena contemporánea en esta misma línea. Finalmente, proponemos una serie de conclusiones tentativas acerca de la idea de “lo humano” en la escena actual de las sociedades poscoloniales, como las latinoamericanas, a modo de epílogo de los problemas planteados.

This article proposes to carry out an analysis based on an inverse journey to that of the research works investigating the link between postcolonial studies and Foucault’s thought, which has focused on the possible appropriation and the critique that these studies make of the philosopher’s concepts. In contrast to them, this article shows that that matrix of thought offers tools and categories that allow dealing with coloniality and decoloniality, and that these concepts are linked, in the first place, with the strong critique that the philosopher formulates to the ideas of “the human”, truth, history, power, knowledge and language, highlighting the scope and potentialities of these proposals. At the same time, and being consistent with these proposals, we make explicit the notion of coloniality as a phenomenon of power, domination, and production of subjectivity of our present time, in which we highlight other figures of “the human” that continue to define the contemporary scene in this same sense. Finally, we propose a series of tentative conclusions about the idea of “the human” in the current scene of postcolonial societies, such as the Latin American ones, as an epilogue to the problems raised.
