Reflexiones transdisciplinares para el estudio del cuerpo y la danza: Un caso en Tucumán (Jujuy, s. XVIII-XIX)

Abstract

El objetivo del artículo es presentar algunas reflexiones teóricas transdisciplinares sobre el cuerpo y la danza en la globalidad de la modernidad occidental y aplicarlas en la indagación del periodo colonial americano. Enfoque y periodo histórico poco considerado en las actuales investigaciones sociales de esta región de la Argentina. Se considera como caso de estudio una pequeña ciudad en la región de Tucumán, a partir de una amplia muestra de documentos históricos originales que corresponden a los siglos xviii y xix. Como hallazgo, se plantea que el estudio del cuerpo y la danza se realiza mejor desde un campo de estudio heterogéneo, porque implica considerar la confluencia de la percepción corporal transmitida del pasado y la articulación con la reflexión teórica contemporánea. Se identifican también nuevas fuentes y realizan interpretaciones analógicas y relacionales sobre el cuerpo y el baile americano y del occidente europeo.

The aim of the article is to present some transdisciplinary theoretical reflections on the body and dance in the globality of Western modernity in order to apply them to the research on the American colonial period. The perspective and historical period are largely understudied in current social research of this Argentinian region.The focus of the case study is a small city in the region of Tucumán, based on a wide sample of original historical documents corresponding to the 18th-19th centuries. A key finding of this article is that the study of the body and dance is better performed from a heterogeneous field of study, because it implies considering the confluence of body perception transmitted from the past and the articulation with contemporary theoretical reflection. In addition, the paper identifies new sources and provides analogical and relational interpretations on the American and Western European body and dance.
