Epidemiología social del COVID-19 en Argentina: un enfoque desde la perspectiva del personal médico

Abstract

Este artículo tiene el objetivo de explorar desde una perspectiva socio-epidemiológica, el carácter sindémico que adquiere la pandemiapor COVID-19 a nivel de hospitales, perteneciente al sistemapúblico de salud, en Argentina. Metodológicamente, se realizaronentrevistas semi-estructuradas a trabajadores de hospitales del áreasur de la región metropolitana a la Capital Federal, medidas porplataformas de reunión virtual, entre los meses de mayo a noviembrede 2021. El análisis de las narrativas obtenidas sobre la experiencia detrabajadores, permite comprender ciertas dimensiones que contribuyena profundizar el deterioro de las condiciones de trabajo, fragilizary vulnerar los procesos de cuidado y auto-cuidado de los propiostrabajadores, vinculado no sólo a los imponderables de la pandemiaque se analiza (mientras ésta ocurre), sino también a problemas previosy se magnifican durante la emergencia epidemiológica. Al respecto,se observa la emergencia de espacios de diálogo-trabajo colectivoentre trabajadores, como una fuerza cohesionada fundamental parapromover cualquier cambio o transformación social que se materialicede manera concreta al interior de la institución.

This article explores from a socio-epidemiological perspective the syndemic character acquired by the COVID-19 pandemic at the hospital level, belonging to the public health system in Argentina. Methodologically, semi-structured interviews were conducted with hospital workers from the southern area of the metropolitan region to the Federal Capital, by virtual meeting platforms, between the months of May and November 2021. The analysis of the narratives obtained about the experience of workers, makes it possible to understand certain dimensions that contribute to deepening the deterioration of working conditions, weakening and undermining the care and self-care processes of the workers themselves, linked not only to the imponderables of the pandemic being analyzed (while this occurs), but also to previous problems and are magnified during the epidemiological emergency. In this regard, the emergence of spaces for dialogue-collective work among workers is observed, as a fundamental cohesive force to promote any change or social transformation that materializes in a concrete way within the institution.
