La variedad de sistemas industriales: una comparación crítica de la nueva ortodoxia regionalista, la teoría de la regulación y el enfoque de variedades capitalismos

Abstract

Investigaciones destacadas sobre la industria manufacturera tendieron a observa su organización en sistemas territoriales cualitativamente diferenciados. Frente a ello el trabajo analiza comparativamente cómo la nueva ortodoxia regionalista, la teoría de la regulación y el enfoque de variedades de capitalismos conceptualizaron la especificidad de los sistemas industriales y, por lo tanto, su variedad cualitativa. De esta comparación emergen consideraciones críticas orientadas a mostrar la dificultad persistente para conceptualizar la variedad cualitativa de los sistemas económicos. El trabajo argumenta que ésta se apoya en una posición básica y compartida según la cual la diferenciación social es el resultado de la hibridación de realidades sociales exteriores entre sí. En este modelo, la variedad socioeconómica y territorial se disuelve en la contingencia volviendo estéril a las teorías frente al momento decisivo de la variedad en sí, histórica, concreta y observable en los sistemas industriales territorializados.

Outstanding research on the manufacturing industry tended to observe its organization in qualitatively differentiated territorial systems. Faced with this, the paper comparatively analyzes how the new regionalist orthodoxy, the theory of regulation and the approach of varieties of capitalisms conceptualized the specificity of industrial systems and, therefore, their qualitative variety. Critical considerations emerge om this comparison aimed at showing the persistent difficulty in conceptualizing the qualitative variety of economic systems. e work argues that it is based on a basic and shared position according to which social differentiation is the result of the hybridization of external social realities with each other. In this model, the socioeconomic and territorial variety dissolves in contingency, rendering theories sterile in the face of the decisive moment of the variety itself, historical, concrete and observable in territorialized industrial systems.
