Gubernamentalidad algorítmica y subjetividad

Abstract

El zapping, la multitarea y el scrolleo constante nos ubican en un estado de distratención (Ippolita, 2012) y de atención normalizada (Touza, 2020), desafíos que implican pensar la infraestructura digital de la cultura (Dussel y Trujillo, 2018) y la gubernamentalidad algorítmica (Rodríguez, 2018) en términos más amplios: pensar el régimen afectivo dominante (por el cual se mantiene la distracción, la indignación y la división social). Para ello, ahondo en la relación entre la racionalidad neoliberal de la cultura de la conectividad (van Dijck, 2016) y la auto-precarización afectiva (Cano, 2018a). En este cruce los dispositivos digitales cumplen una función importante, no tanto por los contenidos sino porque modulan ciertos modos de atención (Touza, 2020), de la temporalidad (Benasayag et al. 2018) y de auto- representación y auto-control (Cano, 2018b). La imbricación entre el capitalismo de plataformas (Srnicek, 2018) y el régimen afectivo actual sitúa la necesidad de repensar el cuidado de sí en la actualidad en relación a los medios digitales. Apunto a analizar el modo contemporáneo de stulticia (Foucault, 2014) y repensar las prácticas de sí (Foucault, 2014) a través de la reelaboración de ejercicios de subjetivación clásicos (de la época helenística- romana). En otros términos, a repensar la necesidad de una paraskeue, es decir, un equipamiento de discursos verdaderos en los cuales el sujeto asume tanto su valor de conocimiento como su valor de acción (Foucault, 2014). Se proponen ejercicios (de escucha y lectoescritura) que pretenden provocar una subversión de poder con miras hacia una transformación de los modos de subjetivación o de autosubjetivación dominantes.

Zapping, multitasking and constant scrolling place us in a state of “distraction” and normalized attention,challenges that imply thinking about the digital infrastructure of culture and algorithmic governmentality inbroader terms: thinking about the dominant affective regime (by which distraction, indignation and socialdivision are maintained). To do this, I delve into the relationship between the neoliberal rationality of theculture of connectivity and affective self-precarization. In this crossroads, digital devices fulfill an importantfunction, not so much because of the content but because they modulate certain modes of attention, tempo-rality and self-representation and self-control. The overlap between platform capitalism and the current af-fective regime places the need to rethink self-care today in relation to digital media. I aim to analyze thecontemporary way of stulticia and rethink the practices of the self through the re-elaboration of classic sub-jectivation exercises (from the Hellenistic-Roman Era). In other words, to rethink the need for a paraskeue,that is, an equipment of true discourses in which the subject assumes both its knowledge value and its actionvalue. Exercises (listening and literacy) are proposed that aim to provoke a subversion of power with a viewto transforming the dominant modes of subjectivation or self-subjectivation.
