Formas de confrontación estatal contra las clases subalternas: Desde las primeras huelgas obreras hasta el centenario de la revolución de mayo

Abstract

La represión sobre el movimiento obrero -y sobre las clases subalternas en general- carece de problematizaciones históricas holistas en el campo de estudios sobre la conflictividad social. La confrontación estatal suele describirse en el marco de estudios que problematizan la lucha social desde el punto de vista de las clases subalternas. Este escrito reconstruye en clave sociohistórica las luchas sociopolíticas desde el punto de vista estatal. Nuestro objetivo es describir de forma holista las formas de confrontación estatal contra las clases subalternas en el periodo que se abre con las primeras huelgas obreras (último cuarto del siglo XIX) hasta el centenario de la revolución de mayo (1910). Las producciones historiográficas sobre el movimiento obrero del periodo, tanto la “militante” como la “académica”, constituyen las fuentes del trabajo. El resultado principal es un conocimiento sistematizado sobre el repertorio de confrontación utilizado por las agencias estatales durante el periodo.

The repression of the labour movement, and of the subaltern classes in general, lacks holistic historical problematisations in the field of social conflict studies. State confrontation is usually described in the framework of studies that problematise social struggle from the point of view of the subaltern classes. This paper reconstructs socio-political struggles from the point of view of the state in a socio-historical key. Our aim is to holistically describe the forms of state confrontation against the subaltern classes in the period from the first workers' strikes (last quarter of the 19th century) to the centenary of the May Revolution (1910). The historiographical productions on the workers' movement of the period, both 'militant' and 'academic', constitute the sources of the work. The main result is a systematised knowledge of the repertoire of confrontation used by state agencies during the period.
