State Sociology in Pierre Bourdieu: an analytical review

Abstract

Este artículo analiza la formulación de una teoría de Estado en el estructuralismo genético de Bourdieu. Con y/o contra el pensamiento de Marx, Weber y Durkheim, la teoría bourdieusiana construyó una arquitectura conceptual que permite comprender los actos y efectos de Estado en la producción/reproducción del orden social (Amar, 2018). En ese marco, reflexionamos sobre la concepción de Estado vinculada a la de poder simbólico y a la teoría de los campos. Para este recorrido, nos valemos de algunas obras del autor y de diversas investigaciones que han hecho foco en su concepción de Estado, dominación y poder simbólico.

This article analyzes the formulation of a State sociology in Bourdieu’s genetic structure. With and against the thought of Marx, Weber and Durkheim, bourdieusian theory built a conceptual architecture that allows us to understand the acts and effects of the State in the production / reproduction of social order. In this framework, we reflect on the conception of the State linked to the symbolic power and the theory of the fields. For this tour, we used some works by the author and several investigations that have a focus on this conception of State, domination and symbolic power.
