Francisco y la corrección sobre los hermanos en la Legenda Maior de san Buenaventura

Abstract

El presente articulo tiene por objetivo analizar la construcción que se hace del santo de Asís en referencia al aspecto disciplinar en la vida que supo ser por mucho tiempo la única hagiografía oficial del santo: Legenda Maior de san Buenaventura. El propósito es adentrarse en aquello que para el poverello podía –o no– implicar un castigo y cómo funcionaba el dispositivo de corrección. Así mismo, se pondrá en diálogo con las hagiografías anteriores con el objetivo de iluminar el análisis. Entendemos aquí a las hagiografías como herramientas que funcionaron de manera pedagógica y performativa. Asimismo, analizar el acto de enunciación es también reflexionar sobre las tensiones en la construcción de la disciplina y la coerción, y por decantación, del poder en la Orden.

The aim of this article is to analyse the construction made of the Saint of Assisi in reference to the disciplinary aspect of his life, in the work that was for a long time the sole official hagiography of the Saint: Legenda Maior by Saint Bonaventure. The purpose of this writing is to go deep into what for the poverello could – or could not- imply a punishment and how the correction device worked. Likewise, a dialogue with previous hagiographies will be established so as to enlighten the analiysis. In this article, hagiographies are considered as tools with a pedagogical and a performative function. Moreover, analysing the act of enunciation is also thinking about the tensions in the construction of the discipline and coercion, and, logically, about the power of the Order.
