“La verdad no vino al mundo desnuda, sino en símbolos e imágenes”: Lenguaje, ficción y revelación entre Borges y los textos gnósticos

Abstract

En el presente trabajo proponemos una lectura cruzada del cuento de Jorge Luis Borges “Tres versiones de Judas” publicado en Ficciones y el texto gnóstico “El Evangelio de Judas” perteneciente al Códice Tchacos. Consideramos que esta lectura nos permitirá abordar los escritos gnósticos complejizando cierta mirada heresiológica que lee estas mitologías como relatos incoherentes y no ven en ellas una técnica de los autores gnósticos para sobrellevar las limitaciones del lenguaje. Así, la particular concepción borgeana de la metafísica y la teología como técnicas literarias nos permitirá un abordaje original sobre la figura de Judas y sus implicancias, tal cual surgen de la edición del “Evangelio de Judas”.

In this paper we proposed a cross-reading of Jorge Luis Borges’ story called “Three Versions of Judas” published in Fictions and the Gnostic text “The Gospel of Judas” from Codex Tchacos. We considered that this reading will allow us to approach the Gnostic writings by disrupting a certain heresiology view that reads these mythologies as incoherent stories and does not see in them a technique of the Gnostic authors to overcome the limitations of language. Thus, the particular Borgean conception of metaphysics and theology as literary techniques will allow us an original approach to the figure of Judas and its implications as they arise from the edition of the “Gospel of Judas”
