Una lectura de la justicia ensanchada en Kant: Para repensar el debate entre Fraser y Honneth

Abstract

En el presente trabajo intentaré ofrecer un análisis crítico de la teoría de la justicia, que comprende tanto la redistribución como el reconocimiento. Para dicho objetivo, en principio, retomaré los ejes centrales del debate entre Fraser y Honneth en torno a la teoría crítica de la justicia, para luego, ponerlos en juego con una lectura de la teoría de la justica ensanchada de Kant. Mostraré que a partir del dualismo de Kant, que comprende una doctrina del derecho y una doctrina de la virtud, se puede avanzar en distintas formas de abordar la justicia social, sin reducir una a la otra. Apoyaré esta tesis en una lectura republicana de la justicia kantiana, por una parte, y en una lectura de la ética política kantiana a partir de los deberes de virtud y la comunidad ética, por la otra.

In this paper I will attempt to offer a critical analysis of the theory of justice, which includes both redistribution and recognition. To this end, I will first take up the central axes of the debate between Fraser and Honneth on the critical theory of justice, and then bring them into play with a reading of Kant's broadened theory of justice. I will show that from Kant's dualism, which comprises a doctrine of right and a doctrine of virtue, it is possible to advance in different ways of approaching social justice, without reducing one to the other. I will support this thesis on a republican reading of Kantian justice, on the one hand, and on a reading Kant’s political ethics on the basis of the duties of virtue and the ethical community, on the other.
