Conocimiento liberador: Santos y mártires a los orígenes de los cristianismos

Abstract

Se ha afirmado que el culto a los santos surge en los cristianismos pre-nicenoscomo reacción a posturas gnósticas y rigoristas (Ehrman (2003) 359). Sin embargo, eneste trabajo esperamos demostrar la amplitud de la noción valentiniana de la santidad ylos fundamentos antropológicos de su rechazo al martirio, que no se oponen, sino quecomplejizan la postura que nos presentan los autores más cercanos a la futura ortodoxianicena.

It has been claimed that the cult of the saints arises in pre-Nicene Christianisms as a reaction to Gnostic and rigorist positions (Ehrman (2003) 359). However, in this work we hope to demonstrate the breadth of the Valentinian notion of holiness and the anthropological foundations of his rejection of martyrdom, which do not oppose, but rather elaborate the position presented by the authors closest to the future Nicene orthodoxy.
