La representación política: ¿Corazón y talón de Aquiles de la estatalidad moderna?

Abstract

El presente artículo se propone interrogar la historia del concepto de representación política a partir de un análisis de su imbricación en el dispositivo conceptual de la modernidad y de su carácter aporético. Desde la perspectiva de la historia conceptual como filosofía política, el texto desarrolla un recorrido por las modulaciones de la representación analizando los principales mojones de este concepto político, desde la formación del Estado moderno hasta los inicios del paradigma de la gubernamentalidad, a partir de la obra de Näf, Hobbes, Sieyès, Guizot y Moreno. El objetivo es subrayar las aporías que atraviesan la historia del concepto para reflexionar en torno a su relación con la forma política estatal, el liberalismo y la democracia. Nos preguntamos, asimismo, por la posibilidad de superar estas aporías a partir de la teoría del gobierno representativo de Guizot y la puesta en valor del carácter plural y activo de la ciudadanía en el vínculo representativo.

The present article aims to interrogate the history and actuality of the concept of political representation from an analysis of its imbrication in the conceptual device of modernity and its aporetic character. Informed by the heuristic perspective of conceptual history as political philosophy, the text develops a journey through the modulations of representation by analyzing the main landmarks of this political concept, from the formation of the modern state to the beginnings of the paradigm of governmentality, resorting the work of Näf, Hobbes, Sieyès, Guizot and Moreno. The aim is to highlight the aporias in the history of the concept in order to reflect on its relationship with the western state, liberalism and democracy. We also wonder about the possibility of overcoming these aporias based on Guizot's theory of representative government and the value of the plural and active character of citizenship in the representative relationship.
