Bodas de sangre: el sacrificio de Ifigenia en Ifigenia entre los tauros

Abstract

El objetivo de este artículo es focalizar en las referencias al sacrificio de Ifigenia en el pasado extradramático al que se remite ennumerosas oportunidades en Ifigenia entre los tauros. Ello ocurre no solo en el prólogo, que sería quizá lo esperable, sino que talesreferencias recorren la tragedia toda. Este tratamiento, por otro lado, lo analizaremos en el marco de una característica constantedel género trágico que se exacerba en el caso de Eurípides: la perversión y confusión ritual. Para ello desarrollaremos cuatro ejes: elcarácter impropio del sacrificio en Áulide, la confusión entre registro sacrificial y nupcial, las referencias a Helena en tanto causantehumana del sacrificio y el lugar de la diosa Ártemis en esta cuestión.

The objective of this article is to focus on the references to Iphigenia’s sacrifice in the extradramatic past, which is referred to on numerous occasions in Iphigenia in Tauris. This occurs not only in the prologue, which would perhaps be expected, but such references traverse the whole tragedy. This treatment, on the other hand, will be analyzed in the context of a constant feature of the tragic genre that is exacerbated in the case of Euripides: ritual perversion and conflation. For this, we will develop four axes: the improper nature of the sacrifice in Aulis, the confusion between the sacrificial and the nuptial registers, the references to Helen as the human cause of the sacrifice and the part of goddess Artemis in this matter.
