Bufonería y melancolía en tiempos descoyuntados: un estudio de Como gustéis de W. Shakespeare

Abstract

Tomando como punto de partida la sentencia hamletiana “The time is out of joint”, que parece signar toda la dramaturgia shakesperiana, se llevará a cabo un análisis del contrapunto entre el bufón Touchstone y el melancólico Jaques de Como gustéis bajo la hipótesis de que las acciones y expresiones del clown habilitan las críticas que el mundo trastocado precisa para volver a ser considerado un hogar, en contraposición al melancólico que espera que arda el mundo al que percibe como corrupto.

Taking as a starting point the Hamletian sentence "The time is out of joint" that seems to mark all Shakespearean dramaturgy, I will carry out an analysis of the counterpoint between the clown Touchstone and the melancholic Jaques in As You Like It under the hypothesis that the actions and expressions of the clown enable the criticism that the disrupted world needs to be considered a home again, as opposed to the melancholic who waits for the world he perceives as corrupt to burn.
