Lo onírico es político: sobre la interpretación cultural de los sueños

Abstract

En este trabajo, reflexionamos sobre la politicidad del inconsciente a partir de la peculiar interpretación de los sueños propuesta por Charlotte Beradt en El Tercer Reich de los sueños. Los relatos oníricos que dicha obra reúne nos permiten destacar y explorar el valor de verdad de los sueños como un atributo que rebasa la esfera de lo íntimo, situando el deseo y la angustia en un horizonte histórico y colectivo. En este camino, analizamos la hermenéutica beradtiana a la luz de conceptos filosóficos y psicoanalíticos que subrayan la ambigüedad inagotable de lo inconsciente, en el que coexisten el sometimiento y la libertad, el trauma y su elaboración. Nos detenemos en las dimensiones políticas del sentimiento de culpabilidad, que se muestra en ciertos sueños no sólo como el destino íntimo de lo colectivo, sino también como el impulso político en lo aparentemente personal. Apelando a la historia cultural, ponemos en perspectiva a los sueños como testimonios de una época de la que son resultado y, complementariamente, para finalizar, recurrimos a una interpretación de Moisés y la religión monoteísta que nos lleva a preguntar, con Freud, si a veces no es la historia la hija de un (mal) sueño.

In this work, we reflect on the politics of the unconscious from the peculiar interpretation of dreams proposed by Charlotte Beradt in The Third Reich of Dreams. The dream stories that this work brings together allow us to highlight and explore the truth value of dreams as an attribute that goes beyond the sphere of intimacy, placing desire and anguish on a historical and collective horizon. Along this path, we analyze Beradtian hermeneutics in the light of philosophical and psychoanalytic concepts that underline the inexhaustible ambiguity of the unconscious, in which submission and freedom, trauma and its elaboration coexist. We stop at the political dimensions of the feeling of guilt, which is shown in certain dreams not only as the intimate destiny of the collective, but also as the political impulse in the apparently personal. Appealing to cultural history, we put dreams into perspective as testimonies of an era from which they are the result and, conversely, to finish, we recall an interpretation of Moses and monotheistic religion that leads us to ask, with Freud, if sometimes history is not the daughter of a (bad) dream.
