Memoria, excepción y derechos humanos: tensiones entre democracia y autoritarismo en los regímenes políticos actuales

Abstract

Partiendo de la constatación del estatuto y el papel de la categoría de memoria en el mundo actual, este artículo analiza los vínculos posibles entre la memoria, la democracia y la excepción y los derechos humanos. Dicho análisis implicará, al mismo tiempo, el examen de las siguientes cuestiones conexas: en primer lugar, la relación que mantiene la memoria con la construcción de un régimen político, el problema de la verdad y la producción de la verdad y el negacionismo; en segundo lugar, la democracia en tanto régimen político, la tensión entre la democracia y el autoritarismo en la construcción y la vigencia de nuestros regímenes políticos y la teoría de la excepción; en tercer lugar, la relación entre el régimen democrático y los derechos humanos, la configuración de los derechos humanos en el escenario político mundial y regional actual, el papel que pueden desempeñar en relación con los cuestiones señaladas y las potencialidades que pueden llegar a tener en base a las relaciones que se establecen entre ellas.

Taking into account the verification of the status and role of the category of memory in today's world, this article analyzes the possible links between memory, democracy and exception, and human rights. This analysis will imply, at the same time, the examination of the following related questions: first, the relationship that memory maintains with the construction of a political regime, the problem of truth and the production of truth and negationism; second, democracy as a political regime, the tension between democracy and authoritarianism in the construction and validity of our political regimes, and the theory of the exception; thirdly, the relationship between the democratic regime and human rights, the configuration of human rights in the current world and regional political scene, the role that they can play in relation to the issues mentioned and the potentialities that they may have based on the relationships established between them.
