El primer gobierno peronista y la llegada de inmigrantes españoles y exiliados republicanos a la Argentina

Abstract

Las políticas migratorias implementadas por el primer gobierno peronista alentaron la llegada de italianos y españoles, para satisfacer las necesidades de mano de obra del desarrollo económico y social impulsado desde el Estado. Sin embargo, en el caso español, las políticas tendientes a favorecer el traslado de migrantes económicos coexistieron con medidas orientadas a controlar el arribo de los exiliados republicanos, que si bien en números decrecientes, seguían buscando refugio en el ámbito sudamericano. A partir de fuentes principalmente oficiales, en este trabajo trataremos de poner de manifiesto cómo a partir de 1946 se fueron reforzando imágenes coexistentes de inmigrantes de perfil positivo y negativo (entre los que se encontraban los exiliados del franquismo, de manera tácita). También buscaremos comprobar en qué medida esas ideas se tradujeron en prácticas administrativas concretas, en el seno de una institución nodal en relación con el ingreso de pasajeros al país austral: la Dirección General de Migraciones.

Migration policies implemented by the first Peronist Government encouraged the arrival of Italians and Spaniards, to meet the needs of economic and social development from the State workforce. However, in the Spanish case, policies to promote the transfer of economic migrants coexisted with measures to control the arrival of Republican exiles that, although in decreasing numbers, were still seeking refuge in the South American region. Mainly from official sources, this paper will try to highlight how from 1946 on coexisting images of immigrants from positive and negative profile (among which were the exiles of the Franco regime, in a tacit manner) were reinforced. Also we will seek to verify to what extent these ideas translated into concrete administrative practices, in the bosom of a nodal institution in connection with the entry of passengers to the southern country: the Dirección General de Migraciones.
