Air pollution in urban environments is a serious problem affecting human health and the environment. A wide range of tools are needed to identify air pollution problems and to test the effectiveness of any air quality action plan. This document describes a new decision support system for linking existing air quality tools through a modular methodology which allows the air quality and health effects health impact assessment. The system is designed to incorporate multi-source, multitype and multi-scale databases, queries and visualization, and thus take advantage of ground-based stations, remote sensing technology, and atmospheric chemical transport models. Also, allows linking the air quality with health impact assessment through tools proposed by the WHO as environmental burden disease and lifetime cancer risk.
