La teoría hegeliana de la imaginación

Abstract

En el proceso de conocimiento, la imaginación señala para Hegel el estadio en el que la mente humana disocia el objeto en dos contenidos diferentes el contenido-cosa del mundo externo y el contenido interno de la propia mente, de modo tal que ambas versiones del mismo deben corroborarse mutuamente al modo de una mera síntesis de elementos heterogéneos que sólo en su cotejamiento mismo reconocen su identidad. En la actividad de comprensión, por el contrario, este dualismo es superado y, con él, el empirismo y la teoría correspondentista de la verdad que, a ojos de Hegel, están en su base.

in the process of knowledge imagination is, according to Hegel, the point where the human mind dissociates the object into two different contents - i.e. the thing of the external world and the internal content of the mind -, so that both versions of the object must corroborate each other in the way of a synthesis of heterogenous elements that only in their collation recognizes their identity. Comprehension sublates this dualism, and, by doing that, it sublates also the empiricist approach to knowledge and the correspondence theory of truth which, for Hegel, are at its basis.
