La relación alma y cuerpo en el Protréptico de Aristóteles: Hacia una jerarquización de las ciencias

Abstract

El análisis de los fragmentos del Protréptico nos induce a pensar que en este escrito Aristóteles habría trazado una distinción y jerarquización entre dos tipos de ciencias: las ciencias del alma y las ciencias del cuerpo, las primeras identificadas con las ciencias teórico-prácticas y las segundas con las productivas. En este sentido, la tesis que intentaremos defender en nuestro trabajo es que esta distinción y jerarquización está asociada con la relación de subordinación del cuerpo respecto del alma. A los efectos de examinar esta tesis, dividiremos el trabajo en dos partes. En la primera parte, abordaremos la relación entre el alma y el cuerpo y la consecuente concepción antropológica sostenida por Aristóteles en el Protréptico. En la segunda parte, intentaremos examinar cómo incide esta concepción en la clasificación de las ciencias esbozada por Aristóteles en la obra en cuestión

The analysis of the fragments of Protrepticus us suggests that in this paper Aristotle would have done a distinction and established a hierarchy between two kinds of science: the science of the soul and science of the body, the first identified with the theoretical and practical sciences and the second with the productive science. In this sense, the thesis that tries defending in our work is that this distinction and levels of hierarchy is associated with the relationship of subordination of the body from the soul. In order to examine this thesis, we divide the work into two parts. In the first part, we will approach the relationship between soul and body and subsequent anthropological conception held by Aristotle in the Protrepticus. In the second part, we will try to examine how this concept affects the classification of science outlined by Aristotle in the work in question.
