Tejiendo vínculos: Tres mecanismos socioadaptativos desplegados por el movimiento Sai Baba en Argentina

Abstract

En este artículo nos abocamos a presentar lo que denominamos tres "estrategias" socioadaptativas puestas en juego por el movimiento Sai Baba para favorecer la acomodación de sus creencias al campo sociorreligioso argentino, es decir, nos detenemos a examinar como se tejen puentes simbólicos con el background cultural local a fin de lograr una identificación con los valores de la sociedad receptora.

Once the main features of the institutional framework of the Sri Sathya Sai Baba Organization (osssb) —of Indian origin— are presented, as well as the history of the Sai Baba movement in Argentina is outlined, I present here what I call three socioadaptive strategies brought into play by the Sai Baba movement in order to favor the accommodation of their beliefs into the Argentinean socio-religious field, that is, I examine how symbolic bridges are built with the local cultural background so as to attain identification with the values of the recipient society.
