El cuerpo múltiple qom en un universo superpoblado

Abstract

En este trabajo reflexionaremos sobre las nociones de cuerpo y persona a partir de nuestra etnografía entre los qom del Gran Chaco, en diálogo con diversos rasgos que hacen al cuerpo y a la persona en otras sociedades indígenas. Partimos del carácter colectivo del cuerpo y de su no-naturalidad para detenernos en los seres que son concebidos como personas. Luego, abordamos la importancia de la agencia no-humana en la formación de los cuerpos humanos. Finalmente, ahondamos en la permeabilidad de los cuerpos y en la interconexión posible entre ellos gracias a la circulación de emociones.

This paper analyzes the notions of body and person through ethnography among the Toba people of the Gran Chaco in conjunction with the attributes of body and person in other indigenous societies. The analysis begins with the collective nature of the body and its non-naturality and continues to describe other beings that are conceived as persons. It also addresses the importance of non-human agency in the formation of human bodies. Finally, the paper explores the permeability of bodies and potential interconnection between them due to the circulation of emotions.
