Historia de la concepción de un espacio geográfico denominado Plataforma Continental

Abstract

Los naturalistas Martín Doello-Jurado y Juan José Nágera, apoyados por el ministro de educación Antonio Sagarna, se han destacado por haber intentado inducir conciencia sobre el sentido del espacio geográfico de la Plataforma Continental y el Mar Epicontinental Argentino dentro del cambio de los programas en la escuela secundaria para la materia Geografía en las primeras décadas del siglo XX. Considerados el primer oceanógrafo y el primer geólogo de acción nacional, respectivamente, ellos -entrerrianos y mayormente ex alumnos o fraternales del primer colegio laico en la Argentina, el Colegio de Concepción del Uruguay- tienen el mérito de haber sostenido sus ideas pese a una acerba crítica, mediante todos los medios a su alcance.

Considered as the first oceanographer and geologist of nationalist action, respectively, they -all born in the entre ríos province, and mostly former pupils of the first non-religious secondary school in Argentina, the Concepción del uruguay College- have the merit of having supported theirs convictions by all the means at hand despite of heavy criticism.
