Pístis, dóxa y epistéme: un análisis de la relación entre el Gorgias y el Menón

Abstract

Proponemos examinar la noción de persuasión que Platón presenta en el Gorgias a partir del análisis del tipo de persuasión que produce creencia verdadera. Con vistas a este fin, intentaremos precisar cuál es el criterio de distinción entre la creencia verdadera y el conocimiento y de qué modo es posible esclarecer esta cuestión a la luz de la distinción entre dóxa alethés y epistéme que Platón establece en el Menón.

The aim of this paper is to examine the notion of persuasion as presented by Plato in the Gorgias, taking as point of departure the type of persuasion which produces true belief. For this purpose we aim to make explicit the criterion used by Plato to distinguish between true belief and knowledge as well as to point how that issue needs to be clarified by means of the distinction between dóxa, alethés and epsitéme as they are established by Plato in the Meno.
