El problema del lenguaje en la filosofía de Walter Benjamin

Abstract

El siguiente texto pretende revisar la concepción del lenguaje elaborada por Benjamin en el texto de juventud titulado Sobre el lenguaje en general y sobre el lenguaje de los hombres. Por una parte se examinará la relación entre la noción de Benjamin y la de algunos autores románticos o pre-románticos como Hamann y Novalis, destacando el carácter autorreferencial del lenguaje. Por otro lado, se analizará el concepto de Mitteilung utilizado por Benjamin. Pero además, se reexaminará el concepto violencia, para poder observar bajo una nueva luz, la relación entre la charla y la conversación, y el significado del juicio y su magia.

The following paper goes through Benjamin’s language conception expressed in the essay “On language as such and on the language of man”. This work expects to show, on one side, the relationship between Benjamin’s notion and the one of some romantics or pre-romantics such as Hamann and Novalis, stressing the self-referential character of language. On the other side, it is necessary to analyze the concept of Mitteilung used by Benjamin. Furthermore, the concept of violence will be reconsidered, in order to observe the relationship between chat and conversation and the meaning of the judgment and its magic.
