Resumen

This work presents a character segmentation algo-rithm for Argentine license plates based on image projection andits respective minima processing to determine the location of eachcharacter coordinates. Its tested implementation in C++ achievesa 96.49% success rate on a database of 3023 licenses, takingan average of 6.6 ms for a complete license segmentation withresolutions as low as 120 × 30 pixels.
