Reivindicaciones y luchas territoriales en Argentina: entre la identificación indígena y la fragmentación étnica

Abstract

Este artículo presenta un análisis sobre la reivindicación territorial de la Comunidad Indígena Guaraní Estación El Tabacal (Salta, Argentina). El objetivo es abordar el proceso de subjetificación indígena a partir del estudio de las condiciones de emergencia de un sujeto colectivo y la fragmentación que se produce en el mismo tras haber recuperado transitoriamente sus territorios ancestrales. Se analizan tanto las disputas por la representación comunitaria como el desplazamiento desde una reivindicación de reparación histórica por la pérdida del territorio ancestral hacia una demanda de políticas sociales. La estrategia de análisis se centra en el abordaje de tópicos: dimensiones recurrentes sobre las que se ocupan los discursos, fragmentos discursivos dónde se organizan los significados locales del discurso global. El corpus se compone de entrevistas en profundidad construidas con miembros de la Comunidad Guaraní y material documental: expedientes administrativos y judiciales, versión taquigráfica de sesiones legislativas. El trabajo muestra la profunda conflictividad subyacente en la (re)emergencia de subjetividades indígenas y su conformación como un sujeto colectivo. Asimismo se da cuenta de qué modo la reivindicación de la Comunidad Indígena Guaraní Estación El Tabacal integra un repertorio muy amplio de luchas por la tierra en Argentina.

This article analyzes territorial claims of the Guarani Indigenous Community Estación El Tabacal (Salta, Argentina). The aim is to address the indigenous subjectification process from the study of the conditions for the emergence of a collective subject, and its fragmentation once the community has transiently recovered ancestral lands. The paper examines the quarrels for community representation and displacement from the point of view of claiming a historical redress that concerns the loss of an ancient territory, as well as the demand for social policies. The analysis strategy focuses on the use of topics, which are the recurrent dimensions of discourse and discursive fragments where local meanings of global discourse are organized. The work shows the underlying conflict that follows the (re)emergence of indigenous subjectivities and their shaping of a collective subject. It also shows that the claim of the Guarani Indigenous Community Estación El Tabacal fits into the broad repertoire of struggles for land in Argentina.
