Viaje e invención de América Latina: Entre el pop y el neobarroco

Abstract

El artículo propone pensar América Latina como un espacio de simulación en el que es posible excavar otra modernidad, una excéntrica y barroca. Desde esta perspectiva indaga en dos viajeros emblemáticos de mediados del siglo XX: William Borrughs y Ernesto Che Guevara, quienes hacen su experiencia casi al mismo tiempo. La pregunta que articula la reflexión consiste en saber hasta qué punto sus experiencia son verdaderamente contemporáneas, hasta qué punto sus viajes son, en efecto coincidentes.

The article proposes to think Latin America as an space of simulation where it is possible to drag other modernity, one eccentric and baroque. From this point of view it inquires about two emblematic travellers in the middle of the XX century: William Borrughs and Ernesto Che Guevara, who had their experiences almost at the same time. The question that articulates the reflection is to know until what point their experiences where really contemporary, until what point their trips where, in fact, coincident.
