Potencia emotiva, perversión psicológica y distancia epistémica: Paralelos entre la crítica platónica a la retórica adulatoria y a la poesía mimético-placentera

Abstract

En este trabajo me propongo puntualizar, por un lado, las notas centrales de la crítica psicológica de la poesía mimético-placentera en RepúblicaX y, por otro, rastrear sus antecedentes, que ya pueden advertirse en un diálogo de transición como el Gorgias, puntualmente en el marco de los paralelos que Platón establece allí entre la poesía tradicional y la retórica de tipo adulatorio cultivada por sofistas y oradores de la época.

The aim of this paper is to analyse, on the one hand, the principal aspects of the psychological critique of the mimetic-pleasant poetry in RepublicX, and on the other hand to trace the antecedents of this critique that can already be seen in a dialogue of transition like Gorgias,especially in the context of the parallels that Plato establishes there between the traditional poetry and the flattery rhetoric practised by sophists and orators of that time.
