Performatividad, perversión y política: Sobre verdad y mentira en Hannah Arendt

Abstract

En el presente texto se analiza un breve escrito de Hannah Arendt titulado “Verdad y política” del año 1967 con dos objetivos. Por un lado, mostrar el valor jurídico de la razón como delimitación. Por otro lado, indicar el carácter problemático de una noción de límite como frontera irrebasable. Para ello el artículo se divide en tres partes: primero, se muestra la compleja relación entre verdad y política; segundo, se aborda la afinidad esencial entre mentira y política; por último, se señala en qué sentido performatividad y perversión vienen a cuestionar los estrictos límites del discurso arendtiano.

The present text analyses Hannah Arendt’s brief article named “Truth and politics”, written in 1967. It analyzes, on the one hand, the juridical value of the reason as delimitation; on the other hand, the problematic character of a notion of limit as impassable frontier. The article carries out this objective in three parts: first, it shows the complex relation between truth and politics; second, it indicates the essential affinity between lie and politics; finally, it points out the way how the strict limits of Arendt’s argument are questioned by performativity and perversion.
