¿En qué trabajan l@s chic@s de La Rosadita?: Breve reflexión acerca de un descubrimiento en campo

Abstract

Este escrito presenta una reflexión situada, en el marco iniciático de un trabajo etnográfico llevado a cabo en un templo afroumbandista ubicado en el área metropolitana de Buenos Aires que funciona activamente en la actualidad. Desde este punto de partida, se exploran las posibilidades y las múltiples dimensiones que adquieren el tratamiento de la historia oral y la experiencia de vida narrada, tal como se despliegan en una primera y casual entrevista en profundidad con una informante. Así, se analiza cómo las prácticas metodológicas exploratorias del trabajo en terreno permiten al etnógrafo ir más allá y obtener información relevante y sustantiva. En este sentido, el artículo sostiene que estas estrategias indagatorias permiten no solo –en este caso– ampliar la caracterización del espacio sociorreli-gioso y de los sujetos y sujetas que lo habitan sino, en particular, acceder a un dato significativo que no se había tenido previamente en cuenta en el diseño de la investigación: el modo de ganarse la vida del grupo de travestis y mujeres trans que practican la religión y que asisten regularmente a este templo.

This paper presents a reflection situated, in the initiatory framework of an ethnographic work carried out in an Afro-Umbandista temple located in the metropolitan area of Buenos Aires, which works actively today. From this point of departure, we explore the possibilities and the multiple dimensions that take on the treatment of oral history and narrated life experience, as they unfold in a first and casual in-depth interview with an informant. Thus, it analyzes how the exploratory methodological practices of field work, allow the ethnographer to go further and obtain relevant and substantive information. n this sense, the article argues that these investigative strategies allow, not only -in this case- to expand the characterization of the socio-religious space and the subjects and subjects that inhabit it but, in particular, access to significant data that had not previously been taken into account in the design of the research: the way of earning a living for the group of transvestites and trans women who practice religion and who regularly attend this temple.
