La historia de los trabajadores portuarios en Puerto Madryn (Chubut-Argentina): Un primer acercamiento

Abstract

La historia de los trabajadores portuarios en la Patagonia argentina aún está casi sin explorar. Comenzar su desarrollo es central para la reconstrucción de la historicidad de la clase obrera regional y la propia historia de la región. El litoral atlántico patagónico ha sido estratégico ya desde el siglo XIX y la incorporación de la región al sistema capitalista tuvo en los puertos un canal fundamental. Allí se consolidó, por ello mismo, uno de los primeros núcleos obreros regionales. La relevancia del trabajo portuario continúo siendo clave durante el siglo XX y los primeros años del XXI, aún con la eventualidad que siempre caracterizó su labor. Concentrando la atención en el período 1983-2017 (aunque también se analizan etapas previas), se revisan las formas de organización obreras, los métodos de lucha desarrollados, los hitos de la conflictividad y las fases que pueden delimitarse. Se utilizan diversas fuentes, incluyendo relevamiento sistemático de la prensa, archivos de la prefectura nacional, entrevistas a trabajadores y sistematización de la bibliografía existente.

The history of dockworkers in the argentine Patagonia is almost unexplored. Beginning its development is central to the reconstruction of the historicity of the regional working class and the history of the region itself. The Patagonian Atlantic coast has been strategic since the nineteenth century and the incorporation of the region into the capitalist system had a fundamental channel ports. For this reason, one of the first regional workers collective was consolidated there. The relevance of dock work remained key during the twentieth century and the early years of the twenty-first, even with the eventuality that always characterized his work. Focusing on the period 1983-2017 (although previous stages are also analyzed), this article reviewed the forms of worker organization, the methods of struggle developed, the milestones of conflict and the phases that can be delimited. Various sources are used, including a systematic survey of the press, archives of the national prefecture, interviews with workers and systematization of the existing bibliography.
