Una aproximación a la corriente del film sobre arte en la Cuba posrevolucionaria

Abstract

Este artículo explora la corriente del film sobre arte en Cuba luego de la Revolución, con el propósito de desentrañar las implicancias estéticas y políticas del vínculo entre el cine y las artes plásticas. Para ello, luego de plantear el panorama del film sobre arte en Latinoamérica durante la modernización del cine, se aborda el contexto cultural cubano posrevolucionario para observar la creación de nuevas entidades de promoción y difusión de prácticas artísticas y culturales innovadoras. En este sentido, el Instituto Cubano del Arte e Industria Cinematográficos fomentó la realización de cortometrajes documentales que se aproximaron al arte y a la cultura local desde una perspectiva intermedial y experimental que trascendió el simple tono propagandístico. En última instancia, se procede al análisis textual y pragmático de dos films breves paradigmáticos, con el interés de dilucidar los rasgos expresivos y comunicacionales de dichas obras, y asentar en definitiva el carácter patrimonial de estas producciones audiovisuales.

This article explores the trend of film on art in Cuba after the Revolution, with the purpose of unraveling the aesthetic and political implications of the link between cinema and the visual arts. To do this, after raising the panorama of film on art in Latin America during the modernization of cinema, the post-revolutionary Cuban cultural context is approached to observe the creation of new entities for the promotion and dissemination of innovative artistic and cultural practices. In this sense, the Cuban Institute of Cinematographic Art and Industry promoted the making of documentary short films that approached art and local culture from an intermediary and experimental perspective that transcended the simple propaganda tone. Ultimately, we proceed to the textual and pragmatic analysis of two short paradigmatic films, with the interest of elucidating their expressive and communicational features, and establishing the patrimonial nature of these audiovisual productions.
