El significado del trabajo en distintas generaciones de argentinos

Abstract

Teniendo en cuenta el modelo propuesto por Meaning of Working (MOW-International Research Team, 1987), se exploró el significado del trabajo en cuanto a la centralidad y la identificación con los roles en distintas generaciones. Se evaluó la variable géneroal considerarlarelevante al momento de conocer diferencias que podrían surgir entre los dos grupos. Se trató de un estudio descriptivo correlacional, de diseño no experimental, transversal, con una muestra compuesta por 187 personas de ambos géneros, con edades entre 18 y 72 años (M= 39.44,DE= 16.46) residentes de la zona metropolitana de Buenos Aires. Se hallaron diferencias intergeneracionales significativas en la centralidad absoluta y relativa, pero no en cuanto a la identificación con los roles. A su vez, los resultados obtenidos reportaron diferencias significativas en cómo tienden los hombres y las mujeres a significar el trabajo relativo y cómo se identifican con los roles.

In the framework of the model proposed by Meaning of Working (MOW-International Research Team, 1987), the meaning of work in terms of centrality and identification with roles in different generations was explored. The gender variable was evaluated, considering it relevant when knowing the differences that could arise between the two groups. This was a descriptive, correlational, non-experimental, cross-sectional study in a sample of 187 people of both genders, aged between 18 and 72 years (M = 39.44, SD = 16.46) residents of Buenos Aires and its outskirts. Significant intergenerational differences were found in absolute and relative centrality, not being so in identification with roles. In turn, the results obtained reported significant differences in how men and women tend to mean relative work and how they identify with roles.
