Comunicar la pandemia: aproximaciones críticas a partir del caso Lara Arreguiz

Abstract

En este artículo exploro algunos de los dilemas que trajo aparejados la comunicación de la pandemia tal como se manifiestan en el debate público en la Argentina. A partir de la sistematización de los aportes teóricos inherentes al campo de referencia, así como la consideración de algunos antecedentes de investigación sobre el tema, y el análisis del tratamiento del caso Lara Arreguiz en la prensa opositora en la Argentina, señaló los límites éticos, políticos y hasta científicos de algunas propuestas que contribuirían a consolidar una ciudadanía del miedo. En este sentido, insisto en la necesidad de incluir en el debate público visiones mejor informadas sobre el rol de las audiencias con miras a promover una comunicación democrática.

In this article I explore some of the dilemmas that the communication of the pandemic brought about as they manifest themselves in the public debate in Argentina. Grounded on the systematization of the theoretical contributions inherent to the field of reference, as well as the consideration of previous research work on the subject, and the analysis of the treatment of the Lara Arreguiz’s case in the opposition press in Argentina, I point out the ethical, political and even scientists limits of some proposals that would contribute to consolidate a citizenship of fear. In this sense, I insist on the need to include better-informed views on the role of audiences in the public debate so as to promote democratic communication.
