Cuerpo presente en la danza butoh

Abstract

Desde sus comienzos, la danza butoh tiene como búsqueda poner en problemas, generar preguntas y movimientos en l_s espectador_s. Para hacer esto, l_s mism_s bailarin_s buscan llegar a estados corporales que los saquen de su cuerpo habitual, a través de la acción de vaciarse que permite la aparición de fuerzas animales, vegetales y minerales como explica Rhea Volij en una entrevista que le realicé en el año 2013. Esto, dicen l_s butokas que genera un cuerpo presente. Al indagar en la danza butoh aparecen varias preguntas: ¿a qué se refieren por presencia?, ¿qué particularidades adquiere esta presencia en el butoh?, ¿cómo se percibe la presencia en tanto que espectador_? El objetivo de este trabajo es indagar en las experiencias de l_s bailarin_s y l_s espectador_s de danza butoh buscando entender y hacer compartibles intersubjetivamente aquellos discursos e ideas que se tienen sobre ella. Para esto me propongo analizar esta relación entre los cuerpos que bailan y aquellos que miran danzar en el cruce entre la estética de lo performativo de Erika Fischer-Lichte (2011) y la fenomenología merleaupontyana principalmente y el concepto de “ficción perceptiva” de Husserl trabajado en relación con la escena teatral por Horacio Banega (2021).

Since its beginnings, buto dance has aimed to raise questions, generate problems, and provoke its audience. To do this, the dancers themselves seek to reach bodily states that take them out of their habitual body. As Rhea Volij explains in an interview I conducted with her in 2013, this is accomplished through the action of self-emptying, which allows the emergence of animal, vegetable, and mineral forces. It is this, buto dancers say, that generates a present body. When investigating buto dance, several questions arise: What do dancers mean by presence? What are the particularities which presence acquires in buto dance? How does the audience perceive presence? This paper aims to investigate the experiences of dancers and spectators of buto dance, seeking to understand the discourses and ideas that are held about it and to make them intersubjectively shareable. In order to do this, I propose to analyze this relationship between the bodies that dance and those who watch dancing at the crossroads between the aesthetics of the performative described by Erika Fischer-Lichte (2011), Merleau-Ponty’s phenomenology, and the concept of "perceptual fiction" which Husserl worked on in connection with theatre performance y Horacio Banega (2021).
