Músicas y formas de clasificación social entre jóvenes universitarios durante la década de 1980 en Córdoba

Abstract

Este trabajo describe un conjunto de categorías utilizadas por jóvenes universitarios para diferenciarse unos de otros en relación a sus gustos musicales y consumos culturales nocturnos en Córdoba (Argentina) durante la década de 1980. Las categorías (in)habilitaban diferentes “modos de estar en la noche” que el artículo describe a partir de las formas de performar las sonoridades y habitar las distintas escenas. El análisis de esos términos, capaces de realizar performativamente ciertas identificaciones etarias, políticas, sexuales y de clase, permite explorar las poéticas y políticas de las performances donde se (re)producían determinadas subjetividades juveniles durante el periodo estudiado.

This paper describes a set of categories used by young university students to differentiate themselves from each other in relation to their musical tastes and cultural consumption at night in Córdoba (Argentina) during the 1980s. The categories (in) enabled different "ways of being in the night” that the article describes from the ways of performing the sounds and inhabiting the different scenes. The analysis of these terms, capable of performatively carrying out certain age, political, sexual and class identifications, allows us to explore the poetics and politics of the performances where certain youth subjectivities were (re)produced during the period studied.
