Caracterizacion morfológica y evaluación de hongos poscosecha del ostiolo del higo variedad “Guarinta”

Abstract

El higo es un fruto climatérico con gran perecibilidad y corta vida poscosecha. Presenta un ostiolo que sirve como medio de polinización y sitio de entrada de patógenos fúngicos. En este trabajo se evaluaron tres diferentes estrategias de protección y su efecto en el desarrollo del ostiolo además de la presencia de hongos. Se utilizaron 15 plantas de higos blancos de la variedad “Guarinta” obteniéndose imágenes de los ostiolos mediante microscopio electrónico de barrido para evaluar su estructura y diámetro. Se determinó la presencia de géneros fúngicos en simultáneo. El diámetro medio (mm) de poro en el control `C` fue de 7,64, en protección con malla `M` fue de 5,36 y protección con papel aluminio `PA`, de 0,98; acusando diferencias significativas entre los tratamientos PA y C. Los higos envueltos con PA, presentaron una mayor incidencia de hongos patógenos. Esto constituye una primera aproximación en la evaluación de tipos de protección.

The fig is a climacteric fruit with great perishability and short postharvest life. It has an ostiole that serves as a pollination medium and an entry site for fungal pathogens. In this work, three different protection strategies and their effect on the development of the ostiole were evaluated in addition to the presence of fungi. Fifteen white fi g plants of the “Guarinta” variety were used. Images wereob-tained by scanning electron microscope. The ostioli were evaluated in their structure and diameter. The presence of microorganisms was performed simultaneously. The mean diameter (mm) of pore in the control `C` was 7.64, in protection with mesh` M` it was 5.36 and protection with aluminum foil` PA`, 0.98; showing signifi cant differences between the PA and C treatments. Figs wrapped with PA showed a higher incidence of pathogenic fungi. This constitutes a fi rst approximation in the evaluation of types of protection.
