Un estado del arte sobre mujeres y medio ambiente en México y Argentina: colectividades en defensa de la vida

Abstract

Actualmente, las mujeres se han organizado para defender sus cuerpos de la explotación y el sometimiento a las que se han visto sujetas por el modelo capitalista actual. Las similitudes de esta opresión con los mecanismos que amenazan la naturaleza, y que han sido alumbrados por los feminismos comunitarios y territoriales del sur global, han marcado el camino de organizaciones que priorizan el derecho a vivir una vida digna de ser vivida en armonía con el medio ambiente. El presente artículo realiza una revisión bibliográfica sobre los posicionamientos de algunos de los movimientos de mujeres en defensa del medio ambiente en distintos contextos geográficos y sociohistóricos. Para ello, se hace referencia a aquellos movimientos inscritos en México y Argentina y que abogan por una justicia ecológica interseccional. El trabajo propone cuatro recortes temáticos para agrupar dichos grupos en función de su especificidad: mujeres contra el extractivismo; mujeres por la soberanía alimentaria; mujeres contra el cambio climático y mujeres en la transición energética. Esta división se realiza con la finalidad de reconocer los matices de cada una de sus luchas, sin dejar de lado que todas y cada una de ellas ejercen un papel imponderable en la defensa de la vida en el continente, y que se ha vuelto clave para pensar y construir una transición ecológica justa.

Historically, women have organized to defend their bodies from the exploitation and submission to which they have been subjected by the current capitalist model. The similarities of this oppression with the mechanisms that threaten nature and that have been illuminated by the community and territorial feminisms of the global south, have pronounced the path of organizations that put the right to live a life worth living in harmony with the environment. This article makes a bibliographic review of some of the women's movements in defense of the environment in different geographical and socio-historical contexts. For this, those movements registered in México and Argentina and that advocate an intersectional ecological justice are recovered. The work proposes four thematic cuts to cluster these groups according to their specificity: women against extractivism; women for food sovereignty; women against climate change and women in the energy transition. This division is made to recognize the nuances of each of their struggles, without neglecting that each one of them plays an imponderable role in the defense of life on the continent, and that it has become indispensable for think and build a just ecological transition.
