Resumen
Zhou et al.1 published an elegant paper on the risk of coronary heart disease (CHD) in hypertensive patients with high circulating angiotensin II (Ang II) levels. The paper1 has three key findings. First, that coexistent hypertension and high circulating Ang II level may be a predictor of CHD incidence. Second, the study was carried out over a 10- year period in an inner-Mongolian minority population in China, accounting for nearly 3500 individuals. Third, the 3.17 million Mongolian inhabitants are a quantitatively relevant medical target. Moreover, data were collected under strict methodological conditions, hardly losing information over the follow-up period.
