Sérgio Vaz: Uma literatura breve para ser feliz

Abstract

Este artigo pretende focar-se especificamente na produção poética de Sérgio Vaz, escritor pertencente ao grupo de escritores da periferia de São Paulo, autor de seis livros de poesia, conhecido espacialmente pelo seu papel como organizador de um dos eventos mais notáveis das regiões suburbanas da cidade, o “Sarau da Cooperifa” (reunião num bar onde as pessoas da comunidade se dispõem ao redor de um microfone aberto para declamar poesia). A hipótese central centra-se em mostrar que os textos do autor respondem a um complexo projeto literário que se estrutura sob a intenção de culturizar e valorizar a ideia de “periferia” a partir de um trabalho sobre textos breves e efetivos.

This article focuses on the poetic writing of Sergio Vaz. Author of six poetry books and member of a group of writers from the peripheries of São Paulo, Sergio Vaz is also the creator and organizer of the most remarkable cultural-event of the suburbs of Brazil: the “Sarau da Cooperifa”, where people from the community get together at the local coffee shop for an open-mic poetry reading. This article proposes that Sergio Vaz’ texts integrate a literary project that, complemented with the Sarau, aims to culturize and valorice the notion of “periphery”, and of “being peripheral”, from a special attention in short and effective texts.
