Resumen
The fossil record of Heteroptera in the country is scarce with only five species in five genera, and some of them of indeterminate systematic position. In spite of this, there are some interesting points with respect to their age and record. The pentatomids are recorded as fossils in Patagonia. Another interesting record is that of the Anisopinae notonectids in the Upper Cretaceous of central Argentina representing surely a new genus and one of the oldest Anisopinae in the world. The presence of the Notonectinae-Anisopinae ambush predator guild in the Cretaceous of the same strata given us an idea of the complexity of the freshwater environment 120 Ma ago (Petrulevičius et al., 2005).
