L’impact économique et social de la production de soja transgénique en Argentine

Abstract

Cet article examine la pertinence du modèle agro-exportateur dans lequel l’Argentine s’est engagée sous l’angle de sa soutenabilité. Il suggère un conflit profond entre, d’une part, le succès indéniable de la «sojatization» de l’agriculture argentine, mesuré en termes de production et de profits records, et, d’autre part, la soutenabilité sociale, économique et environnementale de ce nouveau modèle de production en réseau.

This paper examines the sustainability of the agro-export model in which Argentina engaged. It suggests a major conflict between on the one hand, the success of the «soybeanization» of Argentinian agriculture measured in terms of records in production and profits, and, on the other hand, the social, economic, and environmental sustainability of this very intensive new model of production.
