Paisajes arqueológicos en la quebrada de El Tala

Abstract

En la presente contribución mostramos los avances de nuestra investigación, tomando como marco teórico a la arqueología del paisaje, en el área del valle intermontano de la quebrada de El Tala. Este es un espacio intermedio entre los departamentos Capital y Ambato de la provincia de Catamarca. Dicho valle se ubica en el Km 22 de la ruta provincial N° 4. En esta oportunidad nos interesa comentar los lineamientos teóricos, puesto que son novedosos para el área de estudio, que nos permitieron reinterpretar la arqueología de la zona, ubicando e identificando un espacio agrario a partir de una serie de sitios arqueológicos que incluyen estructuras de habitación, terrazas, canchones de cultivo y estructuras para el manejo de agua; las que configuran un paisaje modificado y habitado por siglos. La metodología aplicada, se denomina prospección por sendas, la cual nos permitió relevar en el paisaje una continuidad en el uso del espacio e interpretar este lugar bajo una óptica de red de relaciones que interactuaron en diferentes escalas, obteniendo como resultado un paisaje vivido, transitado, transformado, es decir un paisaje humanizado.

In this contribution, we show the advances of our research, taking as a theoretical framework the archaeology of the landscape, in the area of the intermontane valley of the El Tala ravine. This is an intermediate space between the Capital and Ambato departments of the province of Catamarca. This valley is located at Km 22 of Provincial Route No. 4. In this opportunity we are interested in commenting on the theoretical guidelines, since they are novel for the area of study, which allowed us to reinterpret the archeology of the area, locating and identifying an agrarian space in a series of archeological sites that include structures of room, terraces, cultivation canchones and structures for the management of water; those that configure a modified landscape and inhabited by centuries. The methodology applied is called trail prospecting, which allowed us to reveal in the landscape a continuity in the use of space and interpret this place from the perspective of a network of relationships that interacted at different scales. Obtained as a result a lived, transited, transformed landscape, that is to say a humanized landscape.
