Los filos de los lógoi femeninos: lecturas polisémicas en Medea, Helena y Bacantes de Eurípides

Abstract

Los personajes femeninos principales de Medea, Helena y Bacantes conforman tres mujeres particulares aunque el lugar, la situación y el contexto desde los cuales ejecutan su accionar sean muy diferentes. Medea, Helena y Ágave, “mujeres de armas tomar” literal o metafóricamente, despliegan en algunos casos filos en palabras que a simple vista no son tales. Nuestro objetivo aquí es analizar las referencias a dicho filo y los sentidos que operan allí en términos que en algunas de sus acepciones pueden tener una traducción más convencional y menos intimidante en función de cada uno de estos “violentos” personajes.

The main female characters of Medea, Helen and Bacchae make up a singular set of special women in spite of the contextual differences from which they execute their violent deeds. As women to be reckoned with, Medea, Helen and Agave deploy in some cases words that connote cutting edges but in terms that at first glance don’t have that meaning. This paper tries to analyze the references to cutting edges and the ways by which these terms that in other definition may have a more conventional and less intimidating translation according to each of these “violent” characters.
