La asamblea cómica de Aristófanes y la política democrática ateniense

Abstract

Este artículo explora los vínculos entre la comedia aristofánica y la democracia ateniense, centrándose en la representación de la asamblea. En función de esto, primeramente, se traza un balance de las formas en que los estudiosos han abordado el problema de la comedia política y se plantea una propuesta para indagar qué elementos ofrece Aristófanes para pensar la política. Posteriormente, se analiza la interacción entre el rol del público en el teatro y el de la ciudadanía en la asamblea, subrayando la homología entre ambos comportamientos y abordando en este contexto las referencias al funcionamiento de la asamblea en diferentes obras del comediógrafo, con particular atención a los elementos que al respecto aporta la comedia Caballeros.

This article explores the links between Aristophanic comedy and Athenian democracy,focusing on the representation of the assembly. Based on this, first, a balance of the ways in which scholars have addressed the problem of political comedy is drawn and it is made a proposal to investigate what elements Aristophanes offers to think about politics. Subsequently, the interaction between the rol of spectators in the theater and that of citizens in the assembly is analyzed, highlighting the homology between both behaviors and addressing in this context the references to the functioning of the assembly in different playwright’s comedies, with particular attention to the elements that the Knights contributes in this respect.
