Hacia un estructuralismo spinozista

Abstract

El trabajo que sigue intenta trazar la ilación de un conjunto de problemas teóricos que habitan al concepto de sobredeterminación de Louis Althusser. Se propone, en primer lugar, recuperar las críticas realizadas al estructuralismo por ciertos pensadores, señalando el modo en el que interpretaron a la luz de estas críticas al concepto althusseriano de sobredeterminación. En un segundo momento, se revisarán aquellas lecturas contemporáneas de Althusser que subrayan la importancia de la filosofía spinoziana en su pensamiento, en particular para la construcción del concepto de sobredeterminación. Por último, y a partir de estas lecturas, se indicará que la causalidad inmanente spinozista permite revisitar la apropiación de Althusser de la problemática estructuralista, mostrando que el cruce entre estructuralismo y spinozismo en el pensamiento del filósofo francés habilita a plantear un estructuralismo que se sustraiga a las críticas más arriba recuperadas. Con esto, se pretende mostrar que a partir de las interpretaciones contemporáneas de Althusser, en clave spinozista, es plausible plantear un estructuralismo que se ubique más allá de las críticas que le han sido tradicionalmente formuladas. Se afirmará que, en el contexto del estructuralismo althusseriano, no existen estructuras por fuera de esta agencia y sin ser, a la vez, permanentemente desplazadas y reinscriptas en esta agencia. Esto es, se mostrará que, a partir de la causalidad inmanente spinozista, Althusser piensa a las estructuras como inmanentes a las prácticas sociales, con lo cual desarticula las críticas tradicionalmente realizadas al estructuralismo.

The following work attempts to trace the connection of a set of theoretical problems that inhabit the concept of overdetermination of Louis Althusser. First of all, we propose to recover the criticisms made to structuralism done by certain thinkers, pointing out the way in which they interpreted the Althusserian concept of overdetermination in the light of these criticisms. In a second moment, we will review those contemporary readings of Althusser that emphasize the importance of Spinozian philosophy in his thinking, in particular for the construction of the concept of overdetermination. Finally, on the basis of these readings, we will proceed to indicate that the Spinozian immanent causality allows us to revisit Althusser’s appropriation of the structuralist problematic showing that the crossing between structuralism and Spinozism in the French philosopher’s thinking enables us to propose a structuralism that avoids the criticisms recovered above. With this, we intend to show that taking into account the contemporary interpretations of Althusser in a spinozist fashion, it is possible to propose a structuralism located beyond the criticisms that have been traditionally formulated about to it. We will argue that in the context of Althusserian structuralism there are no structures outside agency and without being, at the same time, permanently displaced and reinscribed in this agency. That is, we intend to show that, based on the Spinozist immanent causality, Althusser thinks structures as immanent to social practices, thereby avoids the criticisms traditionally made to structuralism.
