Espacio público y cultura popular durante el primer Peronismo: la "Fiesta del Trabajo"

Abstract

El presente artículo se propone analizar la construcción del 1º de Mayo como evento festivo durante el primer peronismo, al que denominaron “Fiesta del trabajo”. La celebración de esta fecha en este periodo creció notablemente, sistematizándose y complejizándose debido a la intervención del Estado y la participación masiva de los sectores populares. Durante el primer peronismo, muchas fechas conmemorativas devinieron en celebraciones de gran espectacularidad, conformadas por intervenciones artísticas diversas, despliegue escenográfico, y la ocupación del espacio público como uno de sus elementos centrales. Allí confluían cruces entre espectáculo y política, característica recurrente en la época. Nos interesa centrarnos en el análisis de la “Fiesta del Trabajo” en la que intervinieron conjuntamente actores políticos, cuadros sindicales y obreros, con el fin de reflexionar sobre la resignificación de la fecha y su trascendencia durante el primer peronismo. También consideramos que este estudio nos ofrece herramientas para repensar la apropiación y usos del espacio público que el peronismo practicó por estos años.

The present article proposes to analyze the construction of the 1 º of May as festive event during the first Peronism, to which they named "Work party". The celebration of this date in this period grew notably, being systematized due to the intervention of the State and the massive participation of the popular sectors. During the first Peronism, many native dates developed into celebrations of great showiness, shaped by artistic diverse interventions, scenic deployment, and the occupation of the public space as one of his central elements. There crossings were coming together between spectacle and political, characteristic appellant in the epoch. It us interested in centring us on the analysis of the "Work party" on that controlled together political, union and working actors, in order to think about the resignificance of the date and his transcendency during the first Peronism. Also we think that this study offers us tools to rethink the appropriation and uses of the public space that the Peronism practised these years.
